Time is of the essence.

We are in an emergency. The continued destabilisation of the climate and destruction of the biosphere is placing humans and ecosystems at risk. The worst outcomes can still be avoided, and much can be done to protect the wellbeing of all life on our planet. The 2022 report of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, WG3) outlines clear pathways for mitigation, but we have only a few years to change our trajectory before crossing planetary boundaries from which there is no going back. We must act now.

Climate activists are sometimes depicted as dangerous radicals. But the truly dangerous radicals are the countries that are increasing the production of fossil fuels [...] Leaders must lead, but all of us must do our part. We owe a debt to young people, civil society, and Indigenous communities for sounding the alarm and holding leaders accountable.
